Here Lies Lovehas announced that multi-Grammy Award winner and Here Lies Love co-producer Apl.de.Ap of Black Eyed Peas will spin a post-show DJ set October 12 immediately following that evening’s 7 PM performance.
The set will be the newest addition to the productions People Power Disco Hour series, which presents post-show DJ performances inside Club Millennium at the Broadway Theatre. The series kicks off October 7, when Here Lies Love co-producer and NYC-born Filipina American DJ CherishTheLuv will perform.

Here Lies Love began previews on Broadway June 17 and officially opened July 20. The immersive disco musical is based on the real story of Filipino First Lady Imelda Marcos, whose husband Ferdinand Marcos was the 10th president of the Philippines and ruled as dictator for 20 years until 1986. The musical features a score by Grammy, Tony, and Oscar winner David Byrne and Grammy winner Fatboy Slim, with music by both, and concept and lyrics by Byrne.

Here Lies Love is a musical with music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, and lyrics by Byrne.
The biographical musical is based on Byrne's and Slim's concept music album based, in turn, on Byrne's research on the life of former Philippine first lady Imelda Marcos. The musical's score is described as "disco-pop."[1]

[edit]Prior to the release of the initial concept album, Byrne presented the music as a song cycle at the Festival of the Arts in Australia in 2006, and in concert at Carnegie Hall in 2007.[2]
Here Lies Love was first publicly presented as a musical at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art's Hunter Center for Performing Arts from June 21–24, 2012, in a co-production between MASS MoCA, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and The Public Theater, in advance of the musical's run at the Public the following year. The workshop production was directed by Alex Timbers and featured much of the same creative team that would remain with the show, including David Korins as set designer and Annie-B Parson as choreographer. The cast included Maria-Christina Oliveras, Josh Dela Cruz, Jose Llana, Ruthie Ann Miles, Conrad Ricamora, and Zach Villa.[2
