Dorothy E. Hill
Dorothy Hill, 92, of Clifton, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019. Born and raised in Carlstadt, Mrs. Hill provided a loving home for her husband and children. Prior to her marriage, she was the office manager for Zimmermann Insurance. Dorothy was an avid painter and a former member of the Cactus and Succulent Society of New Jersey as well as the United Reformed Church of Clifton.
As a young woman, she was active in the USO during the war effort and frequented ‘The Ed Sullivan' show rehearsals. Young Dorothy loved spending as much time in Manhattan as possible. Her love of the arts was passed down through the generations with frequent outings to Broadway shows and Radio City Music Hall. Later in life, she very much enjoyed estate sales and antiquing.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert, and brothers Edward, John and James. She is survived by her daughter Joan, son James, grandson James Jr., and great grand children, Elizabeth, Robert and James.
Visitation services will be held Thursday, January 2, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. The funeral service will be held the following day, Friday at 11:30 am at the funeral home.
